Canvas shortcuts work when the canvas has focus (click empty canvas first) and no dialog is open.

Timeline toggle, Settings, board switching and the filter panels are mouse-only - the timeline
and Settings buttons are in the title bar, the board name in the title bar opens the board list,
and the filters are in the bottom-left controls cluster.
